For some reason, this is fascinating to look at. I wonder where I've seen this type of mechanic before.

I forget if the "production line" sequence was in the movie or was just used as a teaser, but you're probably thinking of Terminator 2.

From the thumbnail, this looked like one of those hand-cranked pencil sharpeners attached to walls and desks in schools.

One could assume a microwave oven-esque "ping!" noise happened before the contraption opened, haha, and look at the steam! Bizarre.

i believe it is a mech and she is the pilot.
Odd that the space for the pilot is so constricted.
it is an interesting idea. such a big clunky sturdy ugly machine with a tiny skinny naked beautiful girl inside.

Agreed with squirrelboy, it has hand actuators and feet and a sensor eye, which just leads me to think it's kind of like an abstraction of like Anne McCaffrey's Brain Ships (from the novel "The Ship Who Sang") where the pilot is literally just the brain of the ship (and in this case, the pilot is in a smallish clunky mech). Well, not so much just the brain, but their bodies is so horribly disfigured that they cannot live outside of their shell.

However looking back at it, it also kind of looks like it was meant to open with the rails and all. but why have such a form-fitting factor over the pilot's body and that really smooth flooring...
