I'd say it's more reminiscent of Dougram designs, which was the other stuff early Battletech licensed alongside the Destroids from Macross

See, this is why the Tiberium Wars Juggernauts have that chicken leg + deploying supports design revamp.

Though using their barrels to dig around for worms was an unintended side-effect...

Combination this actually possible due guntank,Guncannon and Gundam shared same core block system

Unless those are energy weapons, in which case they might have lowered recoil
