Perhaps KC Katsuragi got all the good features, so they went the other way with AL

I don't get why Katsuragi's getting all the hate.
I get the memeing, I even find it funny, but I don't understand hating her design.

Lack of a nose, oversized horns, ugly outfit, and a personality that is explicitly described as bratty. Speaking from experience, KC did her better, and I dread what they'll do with Unryuu. How the same artist that did Hakuryuu drew something this bad is beyond me, but my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined every time that I remember that THIS is how Katsuragi is being represented in AL

The nose is there though. Although maybe the way the artist draw was zigzag off.

If the nose is there, it's either directly connected to the top lip, or directly between the eyes. Regardless, it's terrible anatomy

If you're asking whether I like her, the answer is yes and no. I like the ship, I like the idea of her being a shipgirl. What I don't like is this god-awful depiction of her. Anatomy is part of what makes a character appealing, and this is clearly a failure at that

Oh, I'm a bit of an outlier on that end. I give a shit about how the characters I like are depicted. And if some artist comes in and butchers that? Well goddamit I'm going to call them out for it

I think she looks fine. She is far from the least appealing design in AL.

Her face is just really weird-looking.
And ngl her dress is tacky.

I don't dislike it, but like a lot of AL designs it's hard to say what I find off about her. "Hard to digest" is the best I can come up with. The front-transparent hakama are super cool, but I'm not feeling the ritzy minidress and strapless bikini top.

And her face totally is a bit off. Her mouth should either be moved or re-proportioned, or her head size reduced.

Honestly it is kinda okay, but the angle of her face made it look weird.

At least the loading screens where she appears are much okay though

That was what first came to mind, but it occurred to me that I like that about AL designs. It's just that Katsuragi's one just doesn't really win me over and feels more awkward than, you know, blinding me with the bling like the rest do. Most of my complaints with AL designs are their earlier ones.

The face needs some editing and the rigging is whatever (I wish they didn't have separate artists for it), but the top just gets on my nerves because it seems to split her torso in way that doesn't seem cool, cute or sexy at any angle. Like, she could just have her strapless bikini top and I'd be cool with it. Her hakama is super cool and her cape and hair is cute, but I wish her top was better. I'm not quite sure on her suspenders as well.

I have no idea her KC counterpart but I actually like her design a lot, moreso than any other ship this round. Her twintail horns may be weird, but I like her expression and I just can't say no to novel and intricate clothing designs.

honestly i wasn't crazy about her at first either, but her face is pretty cute in a dorky way. her voice is a lot to process but i'm just impressed at how quickly her VA can talk. she's really grow on me. also love the abs.

I think that is one of her charms itself, especially that her seiyuu was really giving her all for Katsuragi.

Everyone is hating on her design, but it's pretty cute imo

One side focus too much on her face and the other is just using memes as a fallacy to justify this tho just because it looks weird/ugly to someone doesnt mean that design itself is bad, a good design is one that achieve its porpurse, but considering she is most likely a side dish to make the event fill bigger i dont expect her to be too popular, specially when you have Shimakaze as the "main dish".(UR Destroyer)

Imo i prefer the KC version but thats because is hard for me to replace old versions with new ones, its hard to surpass the previous version and that happens to KC too with new foreign shipgirls.
