I have to admit that back in my days, when all those fields were mostly Touhou fanart, there was lots more horny comments are joking roleplay around.
But that always led to too much shit posting and inane comments.

Now we have all these newfangled ship girls, gun girls, horse girls, operators, servants and all.
With the userbase growing, the level of roleplaying and horny was to be toned down to also tone down the amount of shit posting.
Can't even say how much of it was intentionally or organically implemented.

I think there was also a time where there was a time limit on comments, to avoid spamming.
