Why do people refer to Blue as Leaf? I'm pretty sure it's not her name. I don't know why it makes me angry, though. Nerd rage, I guess. And please, do not link Wikipedia as a source. That would be a very dumb thing to do.
For the same reason people refer Sapphire as Haruka/May or Platina as Hikari/Dawn even though they are different characters. One is from the game (Leaf) and one if from the manga (Blue). Also nerd rage.

Platina? You're joking right? Where the heck did that name come from? I don't think Hikari even has a proper name outside the anime. Unless you count Mitsumi, but she's completely different. I used to think her name was Pearl, but that name apparently belongs to the rival.
Man, all this naming stuff is complicated. Why didn't they just stick to one name for one character, even if that character looks a little bit different from its counterparts in the anime or manga.

Because Leaf IS her name. Her other secondary name would be GREEN.
BLUE on the other hand is Gary.
But the whole naming thing is just out of controll. Leaf is Leaf and Blue in the Japanese version while being GREEN in the English version. Gary is Blue in the English and GREEN in the Japanese version.
I'd say that Leaf is both Leaf and Green since the release of LeafGreen while Gary Green has always been Gary Blue since the release of the Original Generation I.
But of course, personal opiniong tends to loose towards facts mostly.
