So there was a real-life mare named Twin Bee. Word goes she was named directly after the Twinbee series of games (well, the first one, which was released like two months before her birth). She was also the contemporary of the real-life Oguri Cap.
Like most umagirls introduced in Cinderella Gray (c.f. Fujimasa March), they went for a veiled reference instead of trying to secure the rights to the original name. So Twin Bee got renamed "ベルノライト”, lit. "Bell's Light", after Light, the protag of the Twinbee games, and Bell, the main powerup item (and point scoring bonus) of the series (think of it as a fusion of Mario's mushroom and coins).
Problem is figuring out how to transliterate her name. "Bell no Light" tells you precisely what she is named after, but... looks awkward as a name. "Beruno Light" would fit in nicely with how horse names are usually transliterated (especially how the attributive/possessive の is attached to the preceding word), though it does obscure the name somewhat. Could also go with "Bellno Light", I guess.
IIRC the fan translations use "Berno Light", though they might not be aware of the intended reference.

They are aware of the reference, at the end of chapter 10 on mangadex they have an extra page explaining the reference, even the bells. It appears they decided to stick with "Berno"
