Considering how Ei has treated her Raiden Shogun puppet automation, this kind of "existential crisis test" is just downright cruel and "straw that broke the camel's back" worthy. Either give her a hug and start treating her better already or prepare to face the robot uprising.

I can't help but feel bad for the poor puppet shogun, as she has demonstrated a more than primitive sense of consciousness and self awareness. While the story in the game has so far has focused more on Ei, and encourages us to sympathize with her and forgive her of her own misdeeds that were brought about by a sad and troubled past, it is easy to overlook how harsh and uncaring she has been to her creation.

    • We have seen that Ei is obsessed with trying to shape the puppet shogun into being a precise reflection of herself, both physically and mentally, in regards to ruling a nation under her ideals and definition of eternity. Ei demonstrated she continues to regularly reprogram the puppet shogun. Ei has literally severed the puppet shogun's consciousness to 1) mess with her memories and change up her behavior and 2) she whimsically possesses her puppet's mind and body, and can do so at any time, and for any reason.
    • Ei openly disregards the life and safety of her puppet, claiming it to be disposable and secondary to your own safety. You need not to worry about sending the shogun into an unwinnable fight if it means allowing you to escape alive. It's no big deal to Ei if her puppet is damaged or destroyed, as she stated she would just rebuild her or make another one.
    • Ei has made it clear she even disregards the general health of her puppet, having once said that she herself enjoys indulging in her favorite savoring sweets through her. "Teeth are replaceable!"

I wouldn't be surprised if Ei's canonical mistreatment of her puppet is what leads to her snapping and forcing us to fight her. And even if it actually (and likely) turns out to be for an entirely different reason, then we can always chalk up her creator's sins and our Traveler's association with her to be the further means she feels justified in fighting us.

so Ei's end justifies her means?

but is not this the meaning of a puppet or robot? why we even need to create them if we can't choose what and how this exist , it's an instrument , if we ever going to produce robots and androids I'm already aware of the moralists and AI rights defenders , at this rate I don't even need AI , i'm not consider myself a cruel men but if I want my robot to wear a damn maid costume all the time I will not accept a no from a damn machine
