nah, Girls can get jealous too, even cute and pretty ones. Also considering this is japan, there's a high chance said girl might just be a workoholic/studyholic that doesnt date or anything and will somehow end up being a "christmas cake" with no dating experience cause she spent too much time studying and working to hang out with friends, if she even has any.

I know, super specific example, but it happens more often in japan than one would care to think.

The point is, it's annoying.
I mean, they are doing it in public. Even a couple would find it annoying.
