しかしこれらは内心の弱気の裏返しで、それに打ち克つため、人一倍鍛錬に力を注ぐ影の努力者。

二刀流の剣術は我流で、刀にあしらわれた獅子と幻獣の姿の如く勇猛に戦場を駆ける。
太刀を片手で振るっているとは思えないほどの威力を誇り、同じ二刀流であるモナコのシャルルとは仲良しでありライバルでもある。
シャルルは神速の二刀流。ヤーニスは威力の二刀流といわれることがある。

バルトのエストニアのエルキくん、リトアニアのスケルラくんとは非常に仲良く。遠征からヤーニスが帰ってくるとハグで迎え入れる。ちょっと照れ臭そうにしているヤーニスも見ものだとメンバーから言われている。
バルトの３人はヤーニスがお守りとして渡した琥珀の原石をそれぞれ持っており、仲良しには琥珀を渡すことがある。
琥珀の大きさでメンバーの信頼度がわかるらしい。

三人で繰り出す必殺技「バルティックタイガー」を編み出した張本人でもある。
