Holy cow. I remember seeing this on DeviantArt years ago. A very interesting, poignant piece. I just dusted off my account because I was thinking I had it in my favorites and could identify the artist... but it looks like they've long since removed it from their account. I was able to find a dead link (...harhar, dead Link...) to it around the internet, though, which gave me the lead I needed.

The artist doesn't seem to have a DA account anymore, but I added their handle as a tag regardless. This piece was called "Death."

This is an interesting take on the Legend of Zelda mythos.

Giving Saria an elemental vibe was a cool idea.Also it was mentioned that any adult who gets lost in the Lost Woods becomes a Stalfos, and Saria was the Sage of Forest so depicting her as having a role to play in the Stalfos process makes a kind of sense.

This would kick the Zelda myths into something broader, kind of the Lord of the Rings. But in its own style.
