So, this was an interesting pic, the character itself is pretty nice, I always liked the Sailor Moon’s char design, but the part that I had more fun with this pic is with the painting process itself.

With this pic I wanted to try a different brush (flat rectangular brush high pressure sensitivity) and a more “free” style of painting, by “free” I mean not to relying too much on my references and instead try to “eyeball” most of it, and I must say it is actually a lot of fun!

I usually try to gather as much references I can for my pics, 3D refs, photos, anything that helps, and I like the results of this format, my cast shadows and forms tend to be pretty correct due to the amount of refs, however, with this “free” style I can focus on trying to make the pic LOOK good, even if not exactly “correct”, and this format gives me a lot of freedom to be creative and try to capture the “mood” I want without worrying too much with being precise.

So yeah, definitely gonna experiment more with this process on future bonus pics ^^
