I know a DMC with multiplayer would end up like some lagfest guantlet or something do to the animation of the moves. But fuck, we have 3 heroes for the most part. I say 3 since we feel like 2 doesn't exist and Nero would be more fitting for an offshoot series.

Oh wow, I didn't even think of this. The things Dante and Vergil could do if they teamed up... I'm thinking Chrono-Trigger style Dual Techniques. Tossing each other guns/swords/enemies. Two Beowulfs. God, the combo potential...

Well Vergil's been dead since the early years of Dante's adventures though. I meant we have Trish, Lady and Dante in the main series, then Nero could have his offshoot series and we don't give a fuck about Luca from 2.

Well... there was technically a way to have 2 players in DMC3. You could have a second player control Dante's doppleganger.
If you have the costume that allowed infinite devil trigger, you could have the doppleganger active at all times! Only problems were that the camera focused only on player 1 and that the doppleganger couldn't change weapons. Always proved to be a lot of fun though!
