We do have pool #4467, "Harsher in Hindsight", but it'd be nice if you (or anyone knowledgeable in this area) could explain why this post "aged poorly", as you put it.
Maybe Part II should've been a high school romcom without any real stakes or threat, so the fanbase would always be waiting for the other shoe to drop...
...and then at the end, when everybody's been lulled into a false sense of security, kill the entire cast in a huge bloodbath.
