Yeah, same. It might be the love an abuser has towards the subject of their abuse, but it's 40K, you take love where you can get it. Besides, even if you don't make Daemon Prince, as long as you do your part you'll get a nice, stable, steady job as a Plague bearer, so that's perks. Not only that, but you'll be surrounded by cute, adorably annoying little Nurglings and Plague Beasts, which are basically big sloppy puppers. What's not to like?

Khorne's another good one to fall too, I think. 'Kill or be killed' is a nice simple philosophy. Sure, you're inevitably going to die with a chainblade in your neck, but just like Nurgle, as long as you keep up a good show you'll be guaranteed a place in Bloodhalla. Again, it's simple, but hey, why complicate things like a giant nerd?

But Slaanesh? Imagine something you like- sex, food, art etc. Then imagine losing interest in the way you like it now (e.g. sex with willing women; fried chicken in sweet marinade; finely painted minis) and having to find more and more extreme ways to find enjoyment in that (ultimately fatal sex with unwilling male animals; fried eyeballs in batter made from their still-living owner's fat, blood and tears; slowly plastinating a living human into a battle pose and painting them while they die) until you're committed to the most hellishly depraved, most fiendishly heinous acts not to feel good, but to feel anything, period.

Tzeentch though, he's the worst of all. At least with the other three you can be sure you're being rewarded and punished for your own actions and the merits thereof. Tzeentch will giveth and taketh away depending on whatever today's 387,420,489 plots require, and you'll never, ever be sure on where your place on his pecking order is. IIRC there was a short story where a Champion of Tzeentch was boasting of his many glories and accomplishments, then at the end he's suddenly a slave about to get his head chopped off- but whether it was all a massive dream Tzeentch gave him a moment before he was to be sacrifices, or whether Tzeentch just decided to shit on his Champion for kicks, he would never know. Honestly, if you serve a being whose own PR calls 'The Great Deceiver', you deserve what you get.

Yea just read that in a omnibus, the story is called "The Lives of Ferag Lion-Wolf", by Barrington J Bayley.
