Does Yasaka-no-kami not specifically refer to HIMself as "his own brother". It seems this whole pool is incorrectly tagged with girl.

Figures that I have to keep arguing this on every pool by this artist, but: basically all of their Touhou stories (which is a lot) depict the characters in this same style, even while referring to them as women throughout. This one leans into the androgyny slightly harder, but it's still pretty pointless to start scraping for evidence to determine when every individual character should stop being tagged as female and start being tagged as male, when the confirmed-female and argued-male characters aren't visually distinguishable anyway (and the tagging seems to be mostly a matter of principle). "Treating me like a brother" is the closest thing to a contradiction of the Touhou character Yasaka Kanako's otherwise female-by-default gender in this whole story, and Kanako is actually shown in her more usual appearance in the modern era, though of course she could just have transitioned somewhere along the way.

Hell, it's mentioned on the last pages that both main characters are actually hermaphroditic, and they certainly are androgynous; should we tag them both as "other" for the whole pool?

...Actually, that would be kinda fun. I can get behind that.

Oh, i see. Checked through some of his work, that broud shouldered Sakuya scares me.

And BTW, human hermaphrodites have a dominant gender, one of their reproduction organs don't work. They would generally be identified with their dominant gender.

I mean, yes. But these are divine hermaphrodites whose parts in this case are all specifically functional.
And terminology aside, the idea of "dominant gender" (or rather "sex") doesn't really help when it comes to androgynous characters, how you as a reader are supposed to determine which of their genitals work and which don't, or whether Danbooru's tagging system is truly supposed to be based on genitals (unseen, at that) even for cases where characters explicitly aren't cis.

Thus the question is basically whether to prioritize tagging them as other due to being androgynous and explicitly hermaphroditic in this story's case, or female due to being the Touhou characters Kanako and Suwako.

    Scary...
    Takemikazuchi-no-Kami
You can have a few soldiers as a rear guard. I shall come to inspect the situation later. You should be able to settle things by then.
By the way... This god of yours... Misagu, was it? Does it really dwell this deep in the mountains?
    Yes...
Hmm... Well, it makes sense for the mountains to have monsters.
Do not fret. Should Misagu try to eat you, I will cut it down on the spot.
...The people of Suwa are thankful for Misagu-sama's protection.
Slay this monster, rule that land... It's as if I were that brother of the great god. I must make sure to do as he wishes, and report back to him.
