just pretty much as you see it, really. one connection to the end of her sleeve, another one to the headband,

Garyseven is right. There's also a connection on her right shoe.

Koishi's connect on her shoes, Satori has a heart on that shoe but nothing is connecting it (in ZUN's official art anyway)

they don't necessarily need to connect to anything, though. even if you don't think of the eye having any sort of life of its own and merely an inert passive object, it could work the same way as an electromagnet does and just the looping around creating an ESP field around her

not saying thats how it works, just an example of why it wouldn't necessarily have to connect to her skin in any way

Decisions seem split. I'm gonna' go with, "Screw it, it's not worth losing sleep over".
