Oh yeah, that's right--the school in K-On! is a real place. I remember seeing a video on YouTube where someone went and looked around it. IIRC, it's no longer an active school, and the local authorities have turned the room that was the model for the club room (you can see part of it at the top of the stairs there) into a little K-On! museum.
