I don't get this site's approving standards. This somehow isn't under review despite the shitty-looking leg but other arts that have the slightest bit of exaggerated body proportions are apparently unapproved and deleted.

It boils down to the fact that approvers are ultimately humans, and there are no real verification, so they never have to justify their decisions. A single approver in a bad mood can approve a lot of shitty pictures, and beyond appealing them, there's not much you can do.
And appealing posts usually get said approver's attention on you, so you can expect to have a lot of your comment downvoted or followed with very snarky answers.

Could be worse. Some will flag very "okay" fanart with "quality check" when there are much questionable ones.

God, why are people in position of authority always so dumb. No one talks on this site unless it's something like Azur Lane's ship enthusiasts on art of new ships, and that's because anytime someone say something that's not agreeable with the mods/approvers, they get downvoted to oblivion or replied to with a condescending know-it-all smartass response.

I'd say this would be fine to flag to throw back to see if another person approves it or not

Is it that time of week for your misinformation and approver hate boner?

The thing you can do if you think an image isn't good enough is Flag it. Appealing is when you want something to have another chance at approval. An approver cannot just mass approve garbage just because they're in a bad mood, anyone that tried that wouldn't be an approver for long. I don't even know why they would do that, since it would actually benefit the uploader(s), and get themelves in trouble. Not really bad mood behavior.

Please don't listen to him. He doesn't contribute whatsoever and barely understands how the site works. Getting "downvoted into oblivion" has nothing to do with the approvers, and the only people I see regularly responding to questions with smart-ass comments aren't approvers, and even if it that does happen, it's probably because someone said something stupid or was needlessly aggressive.

If you think something shouldn't have been approved, or should take a pass through the mod queue if it was uploaded by someone with Unrestricted Uploads, just flag it. You're only going to get downvoted if you make comments complaining about things getting approved or deleted, and downvotes don't even do anything. The person you're responding to regularly gets downvoted to hell and back for getting on people's nerves, and he's still here after all these years.

Because sadly, upvote/downvotes have encouraged that sad state of affair where discussions are impossible, and the reaction you can read above my post only proves that I'm right : only truth would sting hard enough for one of these to have such a meltdown.

I showed a few other conversations on this particular subject tona relative of mine who does a lot of art stuff. Their conclusion Is that this site has an elitism attitude when it comes to art.

Do not let the downvoting into oblivion turn you down. While they are not a badge to show off, they aren't something to be ashamed of if you are respectful to everyone else. Most of the time is the same full time not paid people here who downvote whenever they see you because they can't stand someone else has a different opinion and is not lying (a.k.a. inconvenient truth).

Just like deleted art, downvoted comments are still visible. Sometimes more visible than upvoted comments, but that's not a commenters' fault. Not a big deal.
