Fun Fact: This is the 1st time Mario ever transformed into an animal. Literally every other animal power was a costume. Cat, Squirrel, Penguin, Frog, Bee, etc.
Even though other characters have been turned into animals at various points in the series, and Mario himself is no stranger to being transformed or cursed, this might actually be a first. He's literally been a scarecrow among other things.
