It was actually a McDonalds toy. He was squatting, and if you pushed on his head, he'd do a backflip. Still nightmare-fuel, though.

More impressively the ting is also impossibly well-balanced: if you check around you can find picks of people (mostly in Taiwan) stacking them in pyramids or balancing things like books or even bowling balls on top of them.
