I mean, Momiji is leader of the white wolves, and she's important enough the great Tengu sent her to spy on the Moriya and the girls without being noticed, Aya has a mythical weapon and she's also picked by the great Tengu to deal with Reimu and Marisa.

The "What?" was me wondering where the all that came from. Momiji's not some big wolf tengu leader (though she does have command of some...fairies? Other tengu? Whatever the enemies in stage 4 were.) and she was never assigned to spy on Moriya.

Canon > Fanon...maybe...but one should probably know what IS canon before saying anything.
