    Proof that Japan can make anything moe. By the way, this particular probe is scheduled to complete it's mission in three days, where it will drop it's collection of asteroid rocks into the atmosphere.

    She's aimed at deep space.
    Target Marker, check.
    Take care of yourself, okay.
    Well, here we go!
    What...
    Eh?
    * It's 300 million km to the asteroid

    A great distant that takes light thousands of seconds to reach. The destination there is an asteroid measuring only 500 meters.

    It is also known as "1998 SF36."

    * Target Marker

    A ball-shaped object dropped on an asteroid for use as a marker.

    It performs the same function as a lighthouse. Hayabusa-san has 3 target markers, one of which is embedded with the signatures of 880,000 people.

    Sample horn, check.

    It's 300 million km to the asteroid.
    Now then, it's time to set off!
    ...is this rope?
    * Deep space

    There are several definitions, but with regard to satellite exploration, any distance beyond the Moon is often referred to as deep space.

    Alright!
    MUSES-C is an asteroid probe.
    * Asteroid Explorer Hayabusa (MUSES-C)

    This comic is a biography of this Orbiter. It is great.

    The JAXA official webpage refers to it as "he" and "Hayabusa-kun," so it's probably male. Based on when the project started (1995-1996) it would be between 14-16 years old, or if based on when it was launched (May 2003), it would be 7 years old. Considering it can use Twitter, it seems like a considerably modern child.

    MUSES-C's twitter account: http://twitter.com/muses_c
    * 880,000 people

    This refers to the signatures collected from "Let's fly to meet your Star Prince" Campaign.

    Signatures were actually collected from 877,490 people in 149 countries. Numerous celebrities signed, including manga creator Matsumoto Reiji and former professional baseball manager Nagashima Shigeo from Japan, as well as director Steven Spielberg and author Arthur Charles Clarke from overseas.

    480,000 signatures were collected from America, more than from any other country.

    Yay...
    She'll also fulfill the dream to return with parts of an asteroid.
    She's set to deliver the dreams of 880,000 people.
    ※ MUSES-C-san
     Refers to Hayabusa
     She is a space probe mecha musume who is a personification of asteroid probe Hayabusa. The events that take place in this manga are based on what actually happened to Hayabusa, but with completely different characters so there is no relationship with JAXA.
     (Must explicitly mention this to avoid implicating JAXA)
