Why do you think Regloss hasn't been that popular? Is it that they're less gimmicky than other Hololive groups? Every member is basically a normal, modern day girl, none of them are animal girls or demons or gods, or even a more quirky human like a samurai. Could it be that people find them a bit boring?

Well, there's a lot of Holomembers already, and they're not exactly 'quirky' enough to be popular. The Vtubers scene apparently loves characters who is more 'unhinged' compared to 'normal' characters, which is why Marine is #2 most subscribed Holomems at 2.920.000 subscribers compared to Gura's 4.410.000 members. Aside from that, it's the abundance of Vtubers in the market, and Vtubing as a whole has slowed down considerably with the ease of creating new Vtubers, resulting in more diverse 'market'. Back in gen0 days of Hololive and even Kizuna AI there's not many 'choices' of oshis, resulting in concentration of subscribers over select few that exist. But nowadays even low-audience streamers and manga artists has their own Vtuber model so there's a lot of choices.
