So? fly OVER the trees... I doubt they are so tall as to get into thin air. And Alice's house is in a clearing.

he could mean that in a forest you can easily lose someone through the trees, aka just run through it. also they they never decided a safezone. she will never be "homefree"

Alice told Sakuya that only a fool would try to fly out of the Forest of Magic in IaMP.
As to how that works, I'll hazard a guess that the forest somehow prevents you from flying out.
