Aura should consider herself lucky that she's working at Costco and not Walmart.
My understanding is the people who man the sample stands are usually contractors and only work during peak shopping days. Usually they're elderly looking for something to do with their day. There was an article that there is actually a labor shortage in the US for people to do this job, so Costco is considering supplementing the current stands with unmanned ones that have prepacked sample packs.
