  • M47 Dragon ATGM

I'm guessing that the missile comes out of the front of the tube, so wouldn't having a tripod mount like that which could possibly block the path of the missile be a dangerous thing? Not that it would stop the missile of course, but the destruction it causes to the tripod would no doubt injure the operators. It doesn't really matter if the mount is immobile, just the fact that there is material surrounding the flight path is cause for concern to me. I would have placed the side bolts farther back or something so that there was nothing at all around the exit of the launcher, but maybe that's just me having a healthy fear of explosives.

Shooting the ground seems to have been less of a concern for some users compared to the long flight time, since the rocket was guided from the sights and the user had to keep it in view the whole time.

Thirty-three-year-old video featuring ten minutes of screwing around and ten minutes of training shots, showing more of how long it took for the rocket to go downrange.

Under the tube there is something connected to the tripod to prevent the tube from moving down

It could be worse: The first generation ATGMs had to be steered manually by a joystick observing a flare on the rear of the missile and trying to bring it on the target.

na the Dragon ATGM and super dragon actualy dosent have fins it uses small explosave charges to manuver, so theres no fins to obstruct with such a tripod.
