Don't misinterpret my posts, please, the key part was "when they run out of ideas". If ZUN ran out of ideas, it would be better for him to stop making games than to lower the standard. Anyway, ZUN is the creator of the touhouverse, responsible for maintaining it and introducing new characters once in a while. Fanon artists, on the other hand, just use the basis to create their own stories. That's what they're good at. If they introduce an original character on purpose, with a well made plot and fitting background, I'm okay with this, I've read stuff like that before and it was all right. But Kuroneko obviously just ran out of gas and needed something (or someone, in this case) to clog the period up with. And it simply didn't work out.

The beginning of the doujin was about Youmu and Yuyuko testing whether Youmu could run at mach 229000 by having her run circles around Yuyuko in a high-school sports uniform, which ended up with Youmu spotted Yuyuko who had fainted from Youmu running so fast, tripping over her own legs and plowing through Hakugyokurou at mach speeds.

The plot is still as silly as it was when the doujin began.

You can't seriously believe that the plot has completely derailed from the entire point due to one random guy showing up. He's there for casual transition via combat. They'll see what Youmu can do, she'll see what the Temple characters can do, and he'll be off like Team Rocket or something. To put too much effort into a character that you'll just throw away isn't necessary. Or would you rather him go into expositional dialogue of why he wants a harem, delaying the return of the actual plot, and give him the possibility of being a returning character?

No named(and sometimes named) cannon fodder gets introduced in Touhou doujins(Sometimes PV vids too) all the time. I bet most people would be more inclined to rage if certain canon characters were turned into cannon fodder.

Example:
The Mokou/Kiene PV vid. 2 random demon girls played the villian. There was a bit of questioning on it, but general consensus says that the artist/writer just didnt want to use any of the canon character as villians.

You have a point, but I'd welcome a long period until the next strip rather than wasting time and effort on something like this. That's what he did before and it worked. Yeah, it's his call, but he managed to keep a high quality standard for quite a while, so I think it's a pity he resorts to fillers now.

Taken as is from ZUN works, there are very many characters that I don't like, and in my own opinion, he ran out of good ideas a couple games ago.

All you can do is either not to bother with it anymore or to wait and see if it gets made better somehow.

How many of ZUN's characters would you have liked if you had access only to his original works?

But really, I think you people are getting a little too aggressive on a guy (A nameless one still) who has only been through 3 pages for now. And yet I don't see anyone complaining about other OCs (Even memes) out there. Yukkuri? Sinsacks? Or heck, even Buront.

And really, lay off the hate war of thumbdowning just because said person does not agree with you...

I am indifferent to Buront or yukkuri, but you dug your own grave there. There are tons of people that can't stand them and whine in the comments endlessly. Here I just briefly expressed my opinion that I don't like where this series is going, I didn't plan to start a debate over it.

Comment voting was a quite careless move, but if it annoys you, you can "fix" it by the threshold trick. It won't really fix it for anyone else, but it will be noticeably less annoying for you. To be honest, I personally refrain from voting except from explicit troll / rant posts.

I think this "shitty OC" is probably just cannon fodder to get killed off, possibly by Youmu, a job best done by sombody that's not important enough to be missed.

The thing is, ZUN used hundreds of characters like that (unless every stage's every fairy has a name and a proper background, each one with their own personal and uniqe events...)
And of course as someone stated it before me, this character will probably be only seen here in this arc, thus if the artist introduced him properly, and finished the whole story without him returning, his introduction would get flamed, called worthless, and even he, iself would get trolls on him for not using a character some grew attached to... Thus leaving Mr Randomguy backgroundless is good for everyone...
