The thing is, Yamame is at a huge disadvantage. She is subsceptible to poison as far as we know, but Medicine is just a living doll. Would diseases even affect her?

It's more like "whose poison is more poisonous" so maybe they'll just find out by seeing who'll kill Yuuka first.
