    I want to say that armor looks mongolian but chinese armor looks similar. The sword he carries also makes me chinese.

    It's Chinese, although considering the interaction between the northern Chinese and the 'barbarians' norther still, it's unsurprising that their dress and costumes drifted closer over time.
