Wait a second, how can the armor be small? I though one of the qualities of Planet Patrol armor was that it was "one size fits all" (or why it was able to not tear to shreds when Vegeta went ape) Unless Bulma wasn't able to replicate that property of the armor.

You answered your own question. Thats super alien technology Bulma was never able to replicate. If you noticed back in the Majin Buu saga. When Goku and the others were putting on their armor, it was stiff and not stretchable at all, ya know, like actual armor, not some rubber special material. The only reason Bulma keeps making them after they had peace is because Vegeta says that for Saiyan's, the armor is like their "Going out" cloathes.

I think it may be a matter of planetary/racial pride to Vegeta; I've always gotten the distinct impression that the armor was in fact invented on planet Vegeta and was appopriated by the Planet Patrol. If it wasn't, one would expect Vegeta to go out of his way to avoid wearing it; it does not provide all that much protection (at least not against the level of damage vegeta tends to suffer in his later battles)and Vegeta presumably HATES everything about the Planet Patrol.

May be a little bit of pride. But Vegeta himself actually says its like a "Saiyan Suit". So canonically, its his idea of "Casual wear". Goku:Whats up Vegeta? You look like your gonna get into a Fight? Vegeta:For a Saiyan, this armor is Casual wear.

I believe the implication is that he's vexed Trunks is calling his father a midget in comparison. Vageta has always seemed to have a rather severe inferiority complex when it comes to his height.
