I mean, if Fatal Fury can just churn out a new entry as if SNK hadn’t spent a straightup quarter-century neglecting the brand outside of cannibalizing it for cameo fighters, I can believe that any and every fighting game franchise is just biding its time for a fashionably-belated revival. Hell, I wouldn’t be shocked if Bloody Roar were to announce a comeback title in the near-future.
Nothing coming back can be worse than Killer Instinct's return. Darkstalkers, Variable Geo or Asuka 120% I don't care, anything is welcomed. I would even acept a new Eternal Champions which in the case of Sega is totally possible.

What? Killer Instinct (2013) is one of the best FGs ever released.
I'm not sure about that. I don't think only one character playable on the free version and characters that look nothing like KI2 ever established count as a good returning comeback after a 16 year waiting. But that's just my opinion.
