How is this Lovecraft? All I see is a creepier version of Ikamusume. I don't see any references to the Cthulhu Mythos.

That, and she herself is portrayed as a oceanic spawnling of Lovecraftian origin...

I wouldn't be surprised if she's one of Cthulu's bastard offsprings~

She's a personification of a damn squid. The only link she shares with the him is having tentacles. Nothing more with Cthulu.
