One thing I really liked about this event is that when the two of them got to the beach, they spent several minutes reviewing safety rules before they got started. Not only does this speak to their character in-universe, in the meta sense it also means the developers acknowledged that players might take interest in beach combing after viewing the story and so added it for their benefit as well.
