Thinking back, Reimu and Yuyuko didn't really do much in this battle, aside from maybe one spellcard each. If anything, this is just a sign that tricks and strategy won't work if your enemy is just that freaking powerful.
I guess it was a matter of luck as Yuyuko didn't hit Reimu with that barrage and Reimu's spell card cleared the smoke, negating Shizuha's sneak attack. But at least they lasted more than a few seconds. It's funny out of the 3 luck based cases, the one with Tewi didn't end well for her (Then again, she tried a very obvious attack against an oni deva.)
Part of the Nazrin/Shizuha's undoing is underestimating Reimu, even under duress. Nazrin A) got her self into the open and B) was in spell card range.
Glad to see a correct match end so soon, I was expecting 5 BS rounds after the Yuugi/Komachi win. Hope we don't get trolled in the Yuuka/Mima vs 2 mischievous faeries fight.

Level 1 bosses against Stage 6 and the main character. Everyone's known the result already. But that doesn't mean the underdog team can only bow down crying and begging for forgiveness without giving a little fight back.
Then again, in Dei Shiro's wrestling stories, that was what the Aki sisters exactly did...
To be fair, in Dei Shiro's story they wanted to pull out after they had already been blasted by Utsuho's Mega Flare, then having watched the drawn-out bloody fight of Yuugi vs Ran.
Told ye so~ even is the Aki Sisters are goddesses, both of them together would be no match for the ruler of the dead. Yugi even though she's a lower leveled boss might be because of her power, but a freaking Aki sister? No, they are meant to be abused =)

I wouldn't say wins here are BS comapred to Dei Shirou's series. And if the two fairies were to win their match, it'd require clever thinking and taking advantage of the fact their foes don't get along well.
The Akis in Tag Dream? Well they first got blasted by Okuu, then saw how badly outgunned they were seeing Yuugi in action. They've instead found a nice niche being card carrying girls, where they have a decent popularity.
But Nazrin is techinically a Stage 1 boss/Stage 5 midboss.

There really wasn't much Nazrin could do about that: she wouldn't have been out in the open if Yuyuko hadn't accidentally blown away her cover, and Reimu immediately pounced on her before Nazrin could get away.
Ah, thankfully Nazrin and Shizuha lost. Otherwise the comments would have been flooded with complaints that lack even the fundamental understanding of danmaku.

(b4 translation) I guess Yuyuko blocking Shizuha's last attack may mean that she could've done so, way early (and Reimu may have interfered needlessly, when getting hit by Nazrin's pendulum which was meant for Yuyuko, but probably that was what Yuyuko wanted, which may be to get Shizuha and Nazrin -- and even Reimu -- to underestimate her. Canon Yuyuko is quite deceptive in IN and SSiB, and I think this characteristic has been portrayed well here.)
And by underestimating Yuyu, I also mean expecting her to accidentally friendly-firing Reimu and expecting her to not be prepared for Shizuha :p

It's not strictly danmaku, but hand to hand and ability use. And Kiku's explainations for things are far better than certain things in Tag Dream (such as how the immortals suddenly get stronger/tougher out of nowhere)
