While not sure they have them in black, true surgical masks wrap around the head. Procedural masks, often incorrectly called surgical masks, like most face masks loop around the ears.

The tie on her side braid looks like it's the same color as the mask tie, which is also the case in the promo poster. If it's not just a separate tie colored to match her top it has to be the one for the mask, meaning she's got something really odd going on behind there.
