All transparency does. It actually plays hell for me, since my Danbooru has a dark-grey-almost-black background, so I can barely see this image.

Looks like airsoft, the bunny on the left is holding a bottle of bb's.

The thumbnail is all-black because that's how Danbooru used to handle transparency when making the thumbnail. If you're using a dark Danbooru background you won't see anything either; the image is just black lines on a transparent background. If you have a pale background and only see a black square, something's broken on your end. You can also try using the Resize Image button; I don't think previews turned transparency black, but maybe.

EDIT: Nevermind, I did remember wrong. The above comments show that old preview sized images have black transparency too. Just use the Resize link below the tags.
