No matter if it's a videogame, movie or any other media, protagonists rarely have more than one parent. The only RPG heroes I can think of at the moment with two living parents are Vyse (Eternal Arcadia/Skies of Arcadia) and the protagonist in Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire.

In Tales of Destiny 2, Stahn is revived so the main character ends the game with both parents, seeing as his death never happens when history is altered.
