Reimu faced a powered up Ran before though and "Ran > Chen". Fighting a powered up mid-boss isn't much if you've already beaten a powered up end-boss.

In terms of power, going from fighting a nine-tailed fox to a master-less shikigami nekomata would be like going from fighting a professional soldier aiming at your head with a sniper rifle from 2 kilometers to fighting a half-blind high school bully with broken legs.

The fanon makes Chen a LOT more powerful than she really is.

I've never seen her being "MORE POWERFUL than what she truly is" in fanon. And in this picture implies that she's going to take A Level In Badass. I also think that, now that Ran is dead, the power would have been transferred to Chen?
Or maybe Yukari's power is surging within Chen now since Ran is gone? Or Chen had a hidden power inside her all a long? Take a gander.

... HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! You think ignoring Spellcard Rules gives Chen a better chance!? That just means Reimu now has permission to "LOL, Fantasy Heaven until you are dead!" or worse, "LOL! Now I spam-summon the Gods and Goddesses of the Shinto pantheon!!"

A lot of fans have this ridiculous idea that ignoring Spellcard Rules somehow gives the enemy the advantage against Reimu, who has ridiculous hax of her own! Unless you are seriously broken yourself, like Yukari or Shikieiki or Yuyuko, etc., you're better off playing by the rules, at least with Reimu as your opponent! At least you have an chance of winning in theory then!

Now we have a fight... if Chen sticks to Spellcard Rules! See above for what happens if she doesn't! Adding Ran's power to her means nothing, because Chen herself is weak without Ran powering her up! Take her far away from Ran and she's a mere Stage 2 Boss. It would be a different story if Chen had some sort of ability that got boosted to broken levels by the power-up, but neither she nor Ran has anything like that, just raw magical power, danmaku, and spellcards. Chen + Ran does not = Reimu!

Now, if Yukari decides to say "screw the Spellcard Rules" and gets involved, even if only indirectly, it's a completely different story, but we are talking about the woman who, in canon, once savagely beat Ran for defending herself without permission! I doubt she's going to risk Gensokyo's barrier over Ran, especially since she can probably just heal her.

More likely, Chen puts up an impressive fight, even surprising Reimu with the ferocity of her attack, but ultimately loses without being any more of a challenge than anyone else Reimu has ever faced. She wakes up depressed and miserable only to find a bandaged Ran worrying over her. Cue Almost Heartwarming moment as she embraces the injured Ran a little too tightly!

Marisa's is a trigger-happy thief who was one a minion of a Evil Spirit, and Sakuya is basically touhou's Jack the ripper. makes Reimu look's like a soft kitten by comparison...

Marisa and Sakuya are both NOT vital to Gensokyo, nor does either of them possess Hakurei bloodline power hax like Reimu does. Plus neither of them would ever dare risk drawing Yukari's ire by attacking her pets.
