A British WW2 battleship armed with 9 16" guns in three triple turrets and capable of making 23 knots. The nameship of the first class of treaty battleships, Nelson can be best summed up as a cut-down G3 battlecruiser; maintaining comparable firepower to G3s but being 8 knots slower, slightly less well armored, and good 12 000 tons lighter when at full displacement, thanks to being designed within the limits imposed on new capital ships by the Washington Naval Treaty. HMS Nelson was laid down 28th of December 1922, launched 3rd of September 1925, commissioned 15th of August 1927, and ultimately scrapped in Inverkeithing, Scotland, in 1949.
