A teenager born with the ability to see spirits. His mother died at the hands of an evil spirit called a Hollow when he was a little boy. He grew up as a normal high school student and a native in Karakura Town living with his two sisters Kurosaki Yuzu, and Kurosaki Karin along with his father Kurosaki Isshin. He became a substitute shinigami (soul reaper) with Kuchiki Rukia lending her powers to Ichigo; in order to protect those close to him and wields a large sword called a zanpakutou known as Tensa Zangetsu.
