An American instrument company founded in 1932, largely credited for being the world's first electric guitar maker. They specialize on the guitar and bass guitar.

Their instruments are instantly recognizable by their curvy and slick designs often with sunburst colors and white accents reminiscent of road cars from the 50's and 60's.
Despite the Rickenbacker 330 guitar being much more successful commercially, their most popular model is the Rickenbacker 4001 bass.

FLCL's Haruhara Haruko famously uses a 4001 as a weapon.
