mamotte knight

まもって騎士

Mamotte Knight (Japanese title: まもって騎士, Protect Me Knight!) is a tower defense game by Ancient that was formally available through Microsoft's Xbox LIVE Indie Games platform, with music composed by Yuzo Koshiro.

The game takes place in a fantasy setting as 1-4 players can choose among one of the four classes — the Fighter, the Mage, the Ninja, and the Amazon — as they attempt to rescue Princess Lola from the clutches of an evil goblin army and return her home to her kingdom safe and sound. Unlike most tower defense games, players can move around the what they're protecting (in this case, Princess Lola) as they fight the horde of monsters that come their way. The game also features many references and parodies to classic video game tropes and 80's Japanese pop-culture.

In 2014, the game received a sequel in the form of Minna de Mamotte Knight: Hime no Tokemeki Rhapsody, released for the Nintendo 3DS eShop, and was later localized in 2016 over under the name Gotta Protectors!.
