I feel like, as approached the Heisei Era, we went in the direction of things like Pepper and RoboPhone. Overseas, it was more like Boston Dynamics' Big Dog. Bring on Metal Gear, already! :-)
This kind of robot is great, huh?It has that "retro future" feel to it, doesn't it. Literally, "Showa future"—i.e., the future as envisioned during the heart of the Showa Era, from the '50s-'70s.
