It's japanese thing. Long story short it's a belief that the chief god of deity foxes loves fried tofu pouches, and that belief got referenced many times in the related medias when artists choose to portray an otherwordly fox of any kind, youkai or not.

This also means "kitsune udon", lit. "fox noodles", refers to a dish of udon noodles with fried tofu, as she is seen eating here.
